V Fest 2011

After my manic holidays what better way to become at one with nature once more than to camp!

Along with some friends and my sister, I went to Chelmsfords V Festival over August Bank Holiday and saw some amazing acts, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Jessie J, Example and EMINEM just to name a few.

The weekend was awesome. The sun was shining for once, which is always good when festivals are concerned, and everyone got along.

As with anything I do in life, of course there was an issue. Lets face it, it wouldn't be right if there wasn't! Packing four peoples camping gear into my 206 and then squeezing everyone in, i was already prepared for something to go wrong, and sure enough, after filling the tank up with £40 worth of fuel and stuffing our faces with McDonald's, there was an almighty BANG.

We all looked at each other worriedly. Thankfully we hadn't ventured too far from home, and one passenger on board fortunately has a father who is a mechanic, so after discovering that the car was well and truly fucked, we managed to get hold of his garages' spare car and we were back on our merry way! ....without a working radio.

For the next five hours we amused ourselves playing silly "who am i" games and making jokes. We finally arrived just as the sun was setting and managed to set up camp under a massive flood light. Handy for the light, not so good for trying to sleep at night. thankfully though, as always, alcohol came to the rescue and ensured that as soon as our heads hit the pillow we were out for the count. 

V Festival isn't particularly my favourite festival. Glastonbury will always take the lead as far as festivals are concerned. But as this years V held such an amazing line up, it would be a massive mistake not to have gone. A highlight from the weekend was undoubtedly seeing Eminem... All in all, another successful weekend with some lovely people.
