Indonesia's U-15 Wins Asian Student Cup Football Tourney

Indonesia's football team U-15 defeated host team Thailand, 2-0, in the final match on Sunday to clinch the title at the 2011 Asian Student Cup football tournament.

Team coach Rasiman said that the players maintained their discipline and composure throughout the game amid rain-drenched pitch after heavy downpour.

Rasiman said that the Indonesian team relied on long passes to penetrate Thailand's defense.

Indonesia's players, David and Junda, managed to capitalize two chances coming from setpieces to score two goals. Thailand narrowed the gap in the 65th minute after the break through its player, Pathumrat, but the red-and-white squad managed to keep the edge until the final whistle.

"This result made us proud. Our children manage to take their best out and play with so much confidence," said Rasiman as quoted by kompas.com on Sunday.

Indonesia added another feather to its crown after its player, Indra Kelana, was named as the top scorer and the best player for the tournament.

Indonesian team also won an honorary mention to become the most 'fair play' team in the competition.
