Top 5 iPhone Games

When choosing these games we looked at how fun the game was to play and the appropriateness of it’s control system, along with how good the games visuals looked on the small screen.
Here’sTop 5 iPhone Games.
1) FlickKick Football
FlickKick Football is an immensely fun game to play. With it’s Stylish visuals, easy to pick up control system, and an Internet Multiplayer option which works well over a 3 G connection, it’s easy to see why it has an army of players.
The aim on the game is easy, flick the on screen ball to kick it into the Goal, avoiding various obstacles like defenders and the Goal Keeper.
Very Simple, Very fun, and in multiplayer mode (through Game Centre) very competitive.
A perfect example of what a Mobile Game should be.

2) NBA Jam
NBA Jam is a conversion of a classic Arcade Game originally released in the early 1990′s.
High Tempo, Faced Paced action with over the top graphics, that provides exciting 2 on 2 basketball action with out taking the rules of basket ball (or gravity) too seriously. When first playing the game it’s awkward and tricky as the default control system replicates a joypad on screen (an option which never works well on the iPhone), but within the games settings there’s the option  to switch on an iPhone specific phone system, which involes using context sensitive swipes across the screen. It’s under this control method that NBA Jam comes into it’s own, and changes from being a frustrating game to being one of the best games on the iPhone.
3) Infinity Blade
Infinity Blade is certainly eye catching, the developers Chair Entertainment & Epic Games have ported across the Unreal Engine 3 to the iPhone and the resulting visuals are Jaw dropping.
Infinity Blade is about more then it’s wonderful presentation, it’s control system suits the iPhone perfectly as you swipe your finger across the screen to control your sword.
The biggest challenge on Infinity Blade is against yourself, as your characters skill levels improve the game gets harder so each time you play you strive to get further then you did last time.
4) Mirror’s Edge
Mirror’s Edge is a conversion of a popular console video game, but rather then replicate the console version of the game EA have redesigned the game to take advantage of the iPhones hardware.
The original Games 3D viewpoint has been replaced by a side on 3rd person camera and along with a simple but fun control system, Mirror’s Edge offers a frantic race from the start and end points on each level as you try and negotiate the correct route through the levels, whilst having hand to hand combat with the Games Bad Guys.
A great control system, Fast Action, Short Levels & Puzzle Elements make this a great mobile game.
5) SplataRat
Splatarat is a cracking little stress relieving game, that allows you to take your frustrations out on your iPhone.
The game’s concept is easy, touch an onscreen Rat to Squash it, different game mode and Rat types add variety, but  the games purpose never really changes, squash a many rats as possible in the given time frame.
The Cartoon Style Rats are humours on screen and the different types of rat are easily distinguishable. Make sure you know how each type of rat differs as this will alter your game strategy.
Given the nature of the game it might not be for everybody, but if you like those old style arcade machines where you have to hit the mole on a head with a hammer then you will love this game.

Honorable mentions also go to:
  • Real Racing – for a great racing experience
  • Addimania – a great maths based puzzle game.
  • Monkey Island 2 – a great re-make of a classic
