Profile of a Social Networker

Profile of a Social Network User
There’s an old saying that goes something like this: “If you torture the data long enough, you can make it say anything.”
In social media, there are conclusions made every day about every tidbit of data that blogs like us supply. One such example comes from our friends at GOOD who created this infographic. Here are some of the data points that they used:

  • Non-social-media-users are nearly 3-times more likely of being socially isolated in real life.
  • Social media users trust others almost twice as much as non-internet users.
  • LinkedIn users are the most politically engaged.
  • Women used social networks more than men (we knew that, though).
As you can see, the way that we perceive numbers and statistics often allows us to draw reasonable conclusions. It’s not perfect, but it’s something.
Are you feeling socially isolated right now? Considering you’re on a social media blog, we’ll assume that you’re not.
